Jason Cole, Ph.D,
Chief Executive Officer, has had extensive experience in instructional systems design and implementation of large scale educational technology projects. Dr. Cole was tapped by Open University UK in 2005 to assist OU with its transition from a homegrown LMS to Moodle. Over the ensuing two years, he successfully architected a system that currently supports over 400,000 student users with multiple enrollments; this installation is the largest on-line school known to exist worldwide. Jason is the co-author of Using Moodle (c2006 & 2007) published by O'Reilly Community Press, and has been the organizer of several successful Moodle Conferences in the US and UK. Jason joined Remote-Learner in 2008.
Mike Churchward,
Chief Information Officer and President of Remote-Learner Canada, has a BA in Computer Science with a Minor in Business Studies. He has been developing learning technologies for over twenty years. Mike began his career developing training simulators for the aerospace industry, then moved on to CBT during the new media revolution. As the web developed, much of his development moved to that platform. Mike has been a Moodle core developer for the past six years and founded Open Knowledge Technologies, the Canadian Moodle partner company acquired by Remote-Learner in 2008. Mike is the co-author of Moodle 1.9 Extension Development from Packt Publishing, and works from Remote-Learner's Waterloo, Ontario, Canada office.
Sean Keogh,
Managing Director of Remote-Learner UK Limited and VP of Technology, has been working in Information Technology since 1984 and in the education field since 1999. He started working with Moodle professionally in the autumn of 2002, and founded the first UK Moodle Partner in 2004. Sean has worked in most branches of IT, including network infrastructure, PC support, commercial and open-source applications, and various systems from IBM Mainframes to the latest multi-core cloud-servers. Sean joined the Remote-Learner group with the acquisition of his Moodle Partner business, pteppic.net, in April 2011.
Jonathan Moore, Chief Technical Officer, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and is a certified Project+ project manager. Jonathan formerly served as the Director of Technology for Winfield Kansas Public Schools for almost ten years before joining Remote-Learner in 2005. He has developed a broad set of educational technology and project management skills over the course of his career. Jonathan worked as a full-time developer and has studied computer science since 1993, bringing a strong skill set to meet the challenges of our clients' developmental needs and vendor partnerships. Jonathan is the co-author of Moodle 1.9 Extension Development from Packt Publishing and works from Remote-Learner's Overland Park, Kansas office.
Michelle Moore,
Chief Evangelist, has a Master's degree in Instructional Technology and taught secondary school for 10 years as an instructional technology specialist and math teacher at the Winfield Public School District in Kansas before joining Remote-Learner in 2005. She has played a major role in organizing Moodle conferences. Michelle has trained thousands of teachers and business trainers how to use Moodle over the past six years. She coordinates our Learning Services division and evangelizes new learning technologies at the many events at which she presents each year. Michelle has been recognized each year since 2005 at ISTE as being among the "Best of The Best" Presenters. Michelle works from our Overland Park, Kansas office.
Rod Deter,
Vice President Client Services, plays an instrumental role in assuring that our clients are provided with an unsurpassed, relationship-driven customer service experience. Rod holds an MBA from the University of Nebraska. He brings 30+ years of top-level sales management and business operations experience (both US and Global) in industry, manufacturing, electronics, computer technology and software, and educational technology.
Martin Langhoff, who joined the Remote-Learner team as Vice-President of Products and Platforms in early 2013, is responsible for architecture, engineering, and execution of Remote-Learner’s Moodle products and platforms. Among his many computer programming talents, Martin also brings to this position over a decade’s experience with writing Moodle code in order to increase its scalability and usability. Through his extensive international association with numerous Moodle and other open-source development teams, Martin’s presence as a powerhouse is unmistakable. Prior to coming onboard with Remote-Learner, Martin served as Chief Technical Officer with One Laptop Per Child (OLPC), responsible for software architecture and hardware development.
Bryan Williams,
Chairman and Founder, started Remote-Learner (formerly Integrated Training Solutions) in 1982. The company has been in business providing educational technology services in about every medium in use over the past 30+ years. As educational technology evolved, so has the mission of the company. Bryan holds several copyrights for training programs produced, including OSHA MasterReporter, and has produced several educational documentaries over the years. Before blogs became available, he created Personal Insight Journal, a desktop application for Windows and Macintosh users. Bryan works from Remote-Learner's Waynesboro, Virginia office.
